Past, Present and Future

Hey Folks,

I am soooo sorry to have left you in the lurch for so long but honestly speaking my work here was very exhausting and in my spare time I lacked motivation to set my eyes on the screen again. It shall not happen again. If I would tell you everything I experienced you would fall asleep while reading so I will just stay with the highlights:

Some weeks ago it was time for the yearly departmental outgoing and as part of the team I was invited and willing to join. We picked a beautiful resort in the mountains outside Chiang Mai and had a great time just relaxing, talking eating and drinking (pictures). Tomorrow my last week in the office will start and I recognize more and more how much I will miss these people and their happy, contented way of living. Even though I am really looking forward to all the traveling, meeting friends and seeing my family again I will leave a place which is a unique and great part of my life.

Back to my experiences I went to Bangkok one last time on the first June-weekend to have some time with Kathrin and check if everything is set and prepared. We really took it easy this time going shopping, to the cinema or just enjoying time without planning because I was so tired from work that there was no power left for great trips or explorations. On Saturday we met up with the Thailand group and went for a cocktail on one of the city's famous roof top bars (pictures). The view from up there is just gorgeous and if you ever go to Bangkok this is a must-see ;). Truly relieved I left BKK and was prepared for the four final weeks of morning shift.

Yesterday my chief concierge took me to "Jungle Flight" one of two big companies that do the zip line flights. Sounds as adventurous as it is and I had some sweaty moments as height is not exactly my cup of tea. Before starting the ride you get tucked into hiking equipment and a fitting helmet. Then you enter a course up in the trees consisting of dozens of platforms which are connected by steel lines. clipped onto these zip lines you "fly" from platform to platform and enjoy the view over the Jungle (pictures). The height differs from only 5 meters to up to 50 meters beyond ground. It is great fun and you are always secured by at least one karabiner which is locked to the tree you are on.

For the coming weeks it will be quite difficult to post you right on the spot because we are going to leave civilization for the national parks of Malaysia and the jungle of Sumatra. My near future is so packed with highlights that it is hard to enjoy the moment currently. To give you an idea I will summarize what I am ahead of and what you will be able to read about the coming weeks and months:

1st July: I am leaving Chiang Mai for Bangkok where Kathrin and I will spend two quiet days before we take the night train to

Koh Samui 4-7th July: We will just chill out and enjoy 5 star beds, beaches, snorkeling, sight-seeing and having each other. On

8- 10th July: we will stay in a beautiful resort in Khanom away from tourism and just stay with swimming, massages and nice food near the beach. From

11-13th July the last trip within Thailand will take us to Khrabi which is known as Thailands most beautiful island. Preparing for the back packing we will grab all the sleep and the rest we can get and then transfer to

Kuala Lumpur: where we only stay one night to meet up with our friends and the move on to

Singapore: From there our journey will lead us to Medan on:

Sumatra where we escape into the Jungle to stay with the Orang Utans for one week.

After that it is time to say good bye to our friends and Kathrin and I will move on to:

Bali to spend some last days together. I will leave her there on August, 4th to fly via Dubai back to Germany while she will do here second internship at Exotissimo Bali.

Saying Hello to my family on the 5th I only have some days at home before two friends of mine ( Yes Seba+Micha, I am talking about you) will pick me up for a road trip through Denmark and Norway. By the 20th I will be back home for two weeks before I go to Deventer to clear some things and then fly to Edinbourgh, Scotland where I will study abroad for the next Semester together with Lutz and David.

As you see I am more than busy, but whenever I find the time I will post you. Of course I will finish my accident story as well the coming days.
Looking forward to see most of you within short time again I will leave now for brunch. Bye Bye so far and lim lim ( Thai for keep smiling :) )
