Hi there all over the world,
after being shut-in for some days I decided to finish my healing process with some fresh air and wondeful nature so I packed my bag, switch the hotel again and rented my scooter to make my way to Ban Pong. This is a small village in the middle of the mountains about 20 kilometres away from Chiang Mai.
Until now this was the most amazing trip I made and I felt like experiencing the real Thailand today. The village is in the middle of nowhere and to get there I had to pass wonderful landscapes and way that had nothing to do with the roads we all know. On the first pictures you can see a relaxation resort, which is open for everybody and kind of a weekend attraction for the locals. the whole place is made-up as an installation of little gardens, seperated by little streams and connected by wooden bridges. I discovered it coincidently while heading to Ban Pong and without knowing what was waiting for me I paid the entrance fee and it was more than worth it. The place was so quiet and peaceful that I felt a little disturbing as the only tourist at that moment, so I left and followed the road up to the mountains. The rest of the photos illustrates my stay at the waterfall near the village and the environment. The place was originally a resting place for cowhands and their herd. I just layed down in the bamboo shack and refreshed myself with the cold water. I guess you take a look because it is pretty hard to describe it with words ;)
Until Thursday my page will stay quiet because I am on shift and will have no time to do such things but for the weekend I promise you exciting pictures and stories from Bangkok.
Time for a rain shower now and my medicine. Have a good day guys and you will hear from me soon.
Chris
